Ander Herrera is convinced that Manchester United have what it takes to win the Premier League title next season.

The Red Devils fell short of mounting a title challenge in Jose Mourinho’s first campaign at the club last term when they ended up in sixth place in the table.

However, Manchester United still managed to secure a return to the Champions League by beating Ajax in the Europa League final.

The Red Devils also won the Community Shield and EFL Cup last term as Mourinho brought silverware to the club in his first campaign in charge.

Manchester United will be sure to have their sights set on mounting a serious Premier League title challenge next season as Mourinho looks to steer the Red Devils towards the trophy for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement back in 2013.

And Herrera is desperate to help Manchester United mount a genuine assault on the title next term.

Herrera is quoted as saying by Metro: “I know we have to improve in the Premier League, but we were the only team to win three pieces of silverware last season so we have to say that as well.

“In the Premier League we have to improve, we want to fight for the title, but we know it’s not going to be easy to repeat the three titles [from last season].”

Manchester United have signed Romelu Lukaku this summer to add more firepower to their squad ahead of next season after Victor Lindelof was brought in from Portuguese champions Benfica.
