Rio Ferdinand believes that Manchester United are set to win the Premier League title under Jose Mourinho this season.

The Red Devils are currently preparing for their Premier League opener against West Ham United at Old Trafford on Sunday as they look to get their campaign off to a positive start.

Manchester United are gearing up for their second campaign under Mourinho following his appointment as the club’s new manager last summer.

The Red Devils’ form in the Premier League was a serious disappointment last season, as they struggled to find consistent form and eventually ended up in sixth place.

However, Mourinho still managed to lead the Red Devils to the EFL Cup and Europa League trophies to make it something of a successful season.

Manchester United have brought in Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic so far this summer.

And former Manchester United defender Ferdinand is tipping the Red Devils to go on and win the title in Mourinho’s second season in charge at the club.

Ferdinand wrote on Instagram: “The @premierleague is back!!! Come on people…. who’s winning it this year..? I’m going for…. 1. Manchester United (Mourinho factor.. bought proven in Lukaku & Matic).”

Manchester United were beaten 2-1 by Real Madrid in the Uefa Super Cup last week.
