Jose Mourinho still wants Manchester United to sign an attacker capable of playing on both wings before the close of the transfer window, according to reports.

The Manchester Evening News is reporting that the Red Devils are still chasing a forward to give Mourinho more options ahead of a return to the Champions League next season.

According to the same report, Mourinho wants a wide player to help Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan with the workload next term.

Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last season after Mourinho prioritised winning the Europa League.

The Red Devils were 2-0 winners against Eredivisie giants Ajax in the European final to secure a return to the Champions League in the 2017-18 season.

The 20-time English champions were also 3-2 winners against Southampton in the EFL Cup at Wembley thanks to Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s heroics.

Manchester United signed Swedish defender Victor Lindelof in June after the centre-half completed a £30.7m switch from Portuguese champions Benfica.

The Red Devils managed to beat Chelsea to the £75m signing of Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.

Nemanja Matic completed a controversial move from the Premier League champions to Manchester United in a £40m deal earlier this week.
