Liverpool can move two points clear of United

With Manchester United not in action until Sunday, Liverpool have the chance to go top of the Premier League, when they travel to Fulham in the televised Saturday evening kick off.

Liverpool can take nothing for granted though, against a Fulham side that beat United at Craven Cottage in the last round of Premier League fixtures.

Having gone four games without a win, Fulham have bounced backed with successive victories over Bolton and Manchester United. Roy Hodgson’s side are firmly secured in mid-table, which has been achieved through playing an attractive brand of attacking football. Fulham have lost just three times at Craven Cottage this season.

They meet a Liverpool side in brilliant form. The Reds have scored 13 goals in their last three games and have suffered just two away defeats in the league this season.

Fulham are [6.6], with the draw at [3.85] and Liverpool [1.67]. The Cottagers have a strong home record against Liverpool, having won three of the six Premier League encounters. Earlier this season, Fulham came away with a 0-0 draw at Anfield. The last 4 games between the sides have failed to produce over 2.5 goals. Under 2.5 can be backed at [1.78], with over 2.5 at [2.26].

So now Liverpool are firmly back in with a shout in the title race, it is vital that Manchester United return to winning ways, when they host Aston Villa in the televised Sunday afternoon clash. Villa are also badly in need of some points, with their once promising season, looking likely to fall apart.

Martin O’Neill’s side are without a win in eight games, of which five were Premier League matches. In the last round of fixtures, Villa capitulated as they lost 5-0 at Liverpool and O’Neill will be hoping that his team can show more backbone when they visit Old Trafford.

United are also in poor form, having lost their last two Premier League games and with the Champions League quarter final first leg against Porto coming up in midweek, they need to get their season back on track.

Manchester United are [1.47], with the draw at [4.5] and Aston Villa at [9.8]. United last lost to Vila at Old Trafford back in 1983 and are unbeaten in the last 31 matches against the Birmingham outfit. Manchester United can be backed to be winning at half time/full time at [2.2].
