Cristiano Ronaldo believes that Real Madrid will follow Barcelona’s example and win the treble in Spain this season.

The Portuguese star, who is currently sidelined with an ankle injury, says that the Spanish giants can turn their recent poor run of results around.

Real suffered a shock 4-0 defeat at the hands of Alcorcon in the first leg of the fourth round of the Copa del Rey. The loss was Manuel Pellegrini’s team’s third defeat in five outings.

Ronaldo said after the match: “That’s already happened, we lost. The team has been hard hit by the defeat, but now the atmosphere is already different. These things happen. We are better than that and are going to get a result against Getafe.”

The 24-year-old winger also defended the Madrid manager Pellegrini after he was criticised for his team selection against Alcorcon.

“The solution is not to throw the coach out. There is no need to change anything, the team will come out of this rut. I am convinced we will win the League and Cup and the Champions [League],” he said.

Real Madrid make the trip to the San Siro next week to face AC Milan in the Champions League and Ronaldo believes his side can gain revenge for the Serie A side’s 3-2 win at the Bernabeu last week.

“The Milan is going to be a difficult game, but I am convinced we will get a result,”
