Inter Milan’s Samuel Eto’o: I miss life in Spain
Inter Milan striker Samuel Eto’o has revealed that he misses life in Spain following his summer move to Inter Milan.
The 28-year-old was speaking to World Soccer magazine and also revealed the respect he holds for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who made the reverse switch from Inter Milan to the Camp Nou as part of the same deal.
“[I miss it] a little, yes,” Eto’o told World Soccer. “I spent 13 years in Spain and when you spend that amount of time somewhere it has a deep influence on you.
“But now I’m facing a new challenge. I have to adapt and try to succeed.”
The Eto’o-Ibrahimovic deal was one of last summer’s biggest transfer stories with the Cameroonian being offered along with €46 million to secure the services of Ibrahimovic at Barcelona.
But the striker said he had ‘no problem’ with the Swede’s part in the deal and he believes that he will prove to be a big hit at the Camp Nou.
“[He is] a great player,” he continued. “There is no problem with him and surely he will adapt to the tactical scheme that they have at Barcelona, although we are different in our approach to the game. I hope it works out for him.”
