Bethanie Mattek-Sands is famous for her knee-high socks

The Williams sisters’ adventures into the fashion world have been well-documented, yet at this year’s Roland Garros Venus left very little to the imagination of an infamously judgemental French crowd.

The Sport Review takes a look at five of the most outrageous on-court outfits.

1. Bethanie Mattek-Sands
Despite being ranked 122nd in the world, Mattek-Sands entertains the crowd with bizarre her style choices. Perhaps the American should ditch the the knee-high socks and concentrate on her ground strokes?

2. Serena Williams
These two sisters clearly have a passion for fashion. In this clip the rival siblings give us an insight into potential outfits for future tournaments.

3. Andre Agassi
He was one of the greatest players to grace the game and possessed some of the most stylish shots in tennis. His outrageous outfits, however, were anything but. In this clip his impressive hair is actually a wig and his questionable colour choices make the eight-time Grand Slam winner look more suited to a place at an 80s disco than centre court.

4. Carlos Moya and Rafael Nadal
The pair may be two of the best clay court specialists around, but when they showcased their attire in the 2007 season they appeared closer to securing cameo roles on Power Rangers than a doubles title.

5. Dominic Hrbaty
From the evidence in this video it would appear Hrbaty has been receiving fashion advice from the Williams sisters. The backless top with a pink front is questionable to say the least.
