Rafael Nadal has opened up a lead of over 3,800 points at the top of the ATP World Rankings following impressive clay and grass court seasons.

The Spaniard, who secured his second Wimbledon crown when he overcame Tomas Berdych on Sunday, has enjoyed a successful 2010 thus far.

The 24-year-old completed the European clay court circuit with an unbeaten 22-0 record and became the first player in history to win all three clay-court ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournaments as well as Roland Garros in the same year.

Roger Federer, who lost to Berdych in the quarter-finals at Wimbledon, dropped down to No.3 for the first time in almost seven years after Novak Djokovic’s run to the semis ensured he would overtake the 16-time Grand Slam champion.

Britain’s Andy Murray retains his No.4 spot as Berdych’s run to the final at SW19 sees him move up to a career-high No.8.

ATP World Rankings: Top 10
1 Rafael Nadal 10,745

7 Juan Martin Del Potro 4,350
8 Tomas Berdych 3,845
9 Andy Roddick 3,490
