Romania and Uruguay set for World Cup qualifier clash

While most eyes were on New Zealand and South Africa’s Tri Nations clash, Romania and Uruguay were setting their sights on qualification for the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
Romania triumphed 56-13 against Tunisia, while Uruguay won in equally emphatic fashion, defeating Kazakhstan 44-7.
The two nations will now play each other over two legs in November with the reward being a place in Pool B alongside 2003 winners England, Scotland, Argentina and Georgia.
Romania will be confident going into the match having previously won both encounters with Uruguay and will be keen to continue their run of being at every Rugby World Cup to date.
Despite failing to qualify for the knock-out stages of the 2007 tournament, Romania impressed with their victory over Portugal and also pushed Italy the distance.
By contrast, Uruguay have only qualified for two finals, gaining a win in each but also losing heavily to the bigger teams including conceding over 100 points against England in 2003.
They also fell at the last after being edged out by Portugal in the corresponding fixture four years ago.
