Portsmouth centre-back Tal Ben Haim has joined West Ham on a five-month loan deal

Portsmouth centre-back Tal Ben Haim has joined West Ham on a five-month loan deal.

The former Chelsea and Bolton defender is West Ham manager Avram Grant’s fourth signing since taking over at Upton Park.

The Israeli, 28, made 24 appearances for Portsmouth last season.

Grant’s Hammers travel to Southend tonight for their final pre-season friendly before a trip to Villa Park kicks off their Premier League campaign on 14 August.
