The Brazilian, who reached 300 Grands Prix in Belgium last month, has been expected to continue for another year with the Oxfordshire-based team.
“On my side I think it was an easier decision,†said the 38-year-old.
“They are waiting. I think they are analysing the Nico Hülkenberg situation in order to do it together for next season,” added Barrichello.
Hülkenberg has been described as the new Michael Schumacher in the past and has impressed for Williams this season, finishing in the points on four occasions, and there has been no indication that Williams are unhappy with the German in his debut F1 season.
“My part is done. All that is left is the papers to make it confirmed. That I will be with Williams in 2011 is 100 per cent,†Barrichello confirmed.
Williams are currently seventh in the constructors’ championship, with Barrichello scoring 31 of the team’s 47 points, including a season-best fourth place in Valencia.
