Emmanuel Adebayor has no regrets over Man City switch
Emmanuel Adebayor insists he has no regrets about joining Manchester City and says his bust-up with Roberto Mancini only underlines his commitment to the Eastlands club.
Despite scoring all three of City’s goals as they beat Lech Poznan in the Europa League on Thursday, the 26-year-old striker has often been left on the bench by Mancini this season.
And his row with the manager have led to reports linking the striker with a move away in January but the former Monaco forward says the clash with Mancini is simply a sign of the passion both men have for the club.
“I have had a row with the manager and so has Carlos Tevez,” said Adebayor. “The reason we row is we are all so passionate.
“We just want to be part of a successful club. It’s not about money or egos. It’s because we all want what is best for the team. These disagreements show we care.”
Adebayor’s midweek hat-trick marked his first goals in a campaign in which he has been largely overlooked thanks to Tevez’s prolific form.
“It has been a difficult season for me,” admitted the striker. “But I have never regretted my decision to come to City and will keep fighting for my chance.”
City face Adebayor’s former club Arsenal at the City of Manchester Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
