Scott Parker completes move to Tottenham from West Ham
England international heads to White Hart Lane after West Ham reluctantly agree to sell midfielder
West Ham midfielder Scott Parker has completed his £4.5m move to Tottenham Hotspur.
The 30-year-old England midfielder, who handed in a transfer request on deadline day, joins fellow summer recruits Brad Friedel and Emmanuel Adebayor at White Hart Lane as Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp strengthened his midfield options.
The England international was voted the Football Writers’ player of the season despite West Ham’s relegation to the Championship last season.
Spurs will be Parker’s sixth club of his career after spells with Charlton Athletic, Chelsea, Newcastle United, Norwich and the Hammers.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp said: “He’s a good player. I think he’s what we need. He’s a good lad, great attitude.
“Footballer of the Year last year and he’ll be a good addition for this team ““ no doubt about that.
“He’s a good character, a fantastic person, a proper family man, a real good pro. He’ll be great around the place for us.”
