Defending world champion tops the timesheets in second free practice for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza

Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel set the pace in practice for Sunday’s Italian Grand Prix, edging out McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton at Monza on Friday.

The defending world champion set a time of 1m24.010s to finish just 0.036 seconds ahead of the McLaren driver, who was fastest in the first session.

Michael Schumacher was third for Mercedes, with Ferrari duo Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso close behind.

Red Bull’s Mark Webber was sixth, ahead of Hamilton’s McLaren team-mate Jenson Button, who was 0.498 secs off Vettel’s pace.
