Luis Suárez is already a legend at Liverpool, according to Reds manager Kenny Dalglish.

The 24-year-old Uruguay forward scored his third league goal of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, taking his tally to eight strikes in 21 appearances since his £22.8m move from Ajax in January.

“I don’t think he is just on course to become a legend here, he has [already] arrived,” said Dalglish after the game.

“The fans take to him because he is so genuine and 100 per cent committed. The crowd love players like that and I don’t think Luis will have any trouble getting their appreciation.

“Our supporters are probably the most intelligent ones I have come across and they understand when someone is doing something well.”

The Liverpool manager added: “Luis has been outstanding since he came to the football club, not just on the pitch but off it as well. We are very fortunate to have him.

“We look forward to many more happy days with him here because he’s a fantastic footballer.”
