Sachin Tendulkar ruled out of ODI series with toe injury
India batsman will not feature in remainder of the one-day series against England due to a toe injury
India batsman Sachin Tendulkar will miss the rest of the one-day international series with England because of a toe injury, team manager Shivlal Yadav confirmed on Monday.
Tendulkar missed Saturday’s first match at Chester-le-Street, which was abandoned as a no result, with the same injury and will be out of action for up to four weeks.
The second game of the five-match series is scheduled to take place at The Rose Bowl on Tuesday.
Yadav confirmed that no replacement will be called up to the India squad as Tendulkar becomes the eighth player to fly home from their tour of England, following Sharma, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Ishant Sharma and Harbhajan Singh.
