Stuart Broad ruled out until October with shoulder injury
England bowler will miss T20 series against West Indies and ODI leg of India tour with shoulder injury
England bowler Stuart Broad has been ruled out for a “number of weeks” after tearing a shoulder muscle during the fourth one-day international against India on Sunday.
The 25-year-old will miss Friday’s final ODI against India, as well as the Twenty20 series against West Indies and the ODIs in India next month.
It is hoped that Broad will recover in time to join the England squad for the T20 clash with India on 29 October in Kolkata.
ECB chief medical officer Dr Nick Peirce, said: “Stuart has a muscle tear within his shoulder and will require an initial period of rest and rehabilitation.
“Exact timescales will be determined in due course but he is likely to be ruled out of cricket for a number of weeks.”
