There’s plenty of money to be made this weekend, and today the focus is on Wolves’ clash with Swansea and Norwich’s trip to Liverpool. Let’s get the ball rolling…
Granted, he has been a bit short on goals this season with only one in eight appearances – but Wolves will be looking to the Irish man to turn around their fortunes, (they haven’t picked up a point since September). With Doyle also likely to be on penalty duty he is clearly Wolves’ best hope of finding the net on Saturday.
Go on, double your money with over 2.5 goals in this match. Swansea were slow to start but the goals are now starting to flow. Their last four games have produced 13 goals – and three of those finished with over 2.5 strikes (the other finished with two). And it’s a similar story for Wolves – three of their last four have finished with over 2.5 goals and, again, the other with two. With neither side convincing at the back, evens represents good value here.
After an impressive start in which they picked up seven points from their first three games, Wolves have failed to add to their tally in nearly two months. Remember, though, that the fixture list hasn’t been too kind to them: they have had to face Spurs, Liverpool and an in-form Newcastle. Mick McCarthy’s men will be desperate to get back on track and Saturday is the perfect opportunity. Swansea have lost all four of their away league games this term, while Wolves will be looking to emulate some of the impressive home form that played a vital role in keeping them up last season.
Yes, Liverpool’s Uruguayan front-man seems to eager to embroil himself in controversy wherever possible, but when he’s not hitting the headlines with for the wrong reasons, he’s banging in the goals for Kenny Dalglish’s Reds. He’s netted five in 10 so far this term and always looks a threat in front of goal. On Saturday, with the added incentive of wanting to prove a point after a week of damaging headlines, The Tipster is confident the former Ajax man will deliver.
This week’s audacious 45-yard swerving volley concerns Steven Gerrard. The talismanic Liverpool captain stroked a well-placed free-kick through the Manchester United wall to give his side the lead last weekend – and The Tipster reckons he could well put his side ahead again when Norwich visit Anfield on Saturday. Gerrard has barely kicked a ball since March so will be desperate to lead by example and start finding the net again on a regular basis.
