Arsène Wenger: I will stay at Arsenal and that’s it
Arsenal boss allays fears he could quit the club at the end of the season by insisting he is fully committed to the Gunners
Arsene Wenger has played down suggestions he could leave Arsenal at the end of the season by insisting he is “totally committed” to the north London club.
The 62-year-old Frenchman had told French newspaper L’Equipe he would review his position with the Gunners at the end of the season.
But Wenger told Arsenal’s website on Monday: “I have a few more years to go. I will stay and that’s it. It was a little sentence if you read well.
“I can only speak for me – the club can decide to get rid of me tomorrow morning and I cannot interfere with that decision – but I am totally committed here and I will show you that at the end of the season.”
Robin van Persie scored twice as Arsenal came from a goal down to beat Norwich City 2-1 at Carrow Road on Saturday to keep the Gunners in seventh in the Premier League table on 22 points.
