Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Harry Redknapp is due to undergo a minor heart operation on Wednesday.
Redknapp was admitted to hospital on Tuesday for tests and will have surgery on a minor blockage in one of his arteries.
The 64-year-old will not travel with the Spurs squad to Russia for their Europa League clash with Rubin Kazan on Thursday, and assistant manager Kevin Bond and first-team coach Joe Jordan will assume first-team duties in his absence.
Redknapp told the Sun on Wednesday he was confident the problem would not stop him taking charge of Sunday’s Premier League encounter with Fulham.
He said: “I’m hoping I can be back at work again in a couple of days.”
