Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp admits he has struggled to come to terms with Gary Speed’s death after the Wales manager was found hanged at his home on Sunday morning.
Redknapp, whose side are preparing to take on PAOK at White Hart Lane in the Europa League on Wednesday night, says he was shocked by the news of the 42-year-old former Wales midfielder’s tragic death.
“You can’t get it out of your mind,” said Redknapp. “It’s been unbelievable really. He was a lad that I’ve never heard anyone say a bad word about – everybody who came into contact with him just loved him.
“He’s the most unlikely lad you could ever see doing something like that – it’s just beyond belief.
“There was something special happening with the Welsh team under Gary and it must be a massive blow to all the boys who worked with him.”
