‘Liverpool interested in Real Madrid’s Esteban Granero’
Esteban Granero's agent claims Liverpool are interested in bringing the out-of-favour Real Madrid midfielder to Anfield
Liverpool are interested in signing out-of-favour Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero, according to the player’s agent.
The 24-year-old has struggled to make an impact at the Bernabéu this season with Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira and Xabi Alonso all ahead of the former Under-21 Spain international in José Mourinho’s pecking order.
And after making just one start this season, Granero’s agent Teofilo Lazaro claims his client wants to leave the Spanish capital in search of regular first-team football.
“He’s finding his chances limited at Real and he’s keen for a move away – possibly to Liverpool,” Lazaro told the International Business Times. “If he can’t play at Madrid then he’ll play somewhere else. It’s as simple as that.”
The former Getafe star was linked with a move to Arsenal in November, with the Gunners having reportedly made a £6m bid for Granero.
However, Lazaro claimed he “had heard nothing” from the north London side, with Blackburn Rovers also linked with the Spaniard.
