Cesc Fàbregas has admitted he finds it hard to imagine a manager other than Arsene Wenger in charge of Arsenal.

The former Gunners captain, who sealed a £29m move back to Barcelona last summer after spending seven years with the north Londoners, also declared his belief that Arsenal will recover from a turbulent season next term.

“If I can’t see Barcelona without Pep [Guardiola], I see Arsenal without Wenger even less,” Fàbregas told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“He has been there for 16 years, he is the only Arsenal coach I have known. It would be strange, very strange to see Arsenal without Wenger.

“I feel sad when I see Arsenal lose. But in football things can change from one day to the next and I am sure that a great club like Arsenal will soon be back on track.”
