The 32-year-old has been limited to two appearances for the Reds this season, but the Brazilian left-back has insisted he is available for selection and hopes Kenny Dalglish will hand him a starting role when the Seagulls visit Anfield on Sunday.
“Everyone wants to be involved in the trophies as long as possible,” Aurélio told Liverpool’s website.
“This season we’re in one final already and we’re looking forward to the opportunity to take a step closer to another one. It will be an important step and hopefully we can go through.
“I am feeling good. I am enjoying the training sessions every day and improving. I am available and waiting for an opportunity to get on the pitch again.”
Aurélio, originally signed by Rafael Benítez from Valencia in 2006, is competing with José Enrique for a place on the left-side of Liverpool’s defence.
“We have a strong squad and everyone can do the job,” he added. “It’s up to the manager to decide who is involved in each match, but my aim is to be available as much as possible and see what his thoughts are.
“Everyone is looking for an opportunity. It’s a big squad, but it’s important for everyone to be ready because we are involved in three competitions and there will be a lot of games to come.
“We’re aiming to reach two finals and get fourth spot, and I think we still have the opportunity to get it.”
