Harry Redknapp says Louis Saha will be a valuable addition to Tottenham's squad and revealed his interest in signing Milos Krasić
Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has expressed his delight at securing the signing of Louis Saha and revealed he made an unsuccessful deadline day swoop for Juventus winger Milos Krasić.
The 64-year-old manager admitted his long-term admiration for Krasić, who he unsuccessfully tried to sign on loan from the Serie A side after wrapping up Saha’s switch from Everton.
“I think we got decent money for Roman Pavlyuchenko [who joined Lokomotiv Moscow],” said Redknapp. “I know the chairman was pleased with the money for Pavlyuchenko and I thought Louis Saha could come here.
“He’s bright, got good movement and when he’s playing well he’s a very good player. It gives me another striker. Obviously I’ve got Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe.”
Redknapp added: “I tried to bring Krasić in from Juventus. I was interested in him a few years ago. I liked him and he was in the Ukraine or Russia.
“He’s a Serbian international obviously and we were going to get him on loan. But at the last minute the boy wouldn’t come on loan and he wanted a permanent move [and] we weren’t in a position to buy him.”
