Our man-in-the-know expects an open game between these two Premier League heavyweights and is tipping over 2.5 goals at Eastlands, while backing Arsenal to be victorious in a tight game at Everton.
Sergio Aguero has been in excellent form this season, netting 23 goals in all competitions including 16 in the Premier League. Roberto Mancini will be placing his faith in the Argentina international to help fire City to victory over Chelsea and move his side back to within a point of Manchester United. And 11/10 for Aguero to net on Wednesday is excellent value. Bet365 odds
City’s recent fixtures at the Etihad Stadium have featured plenty of action, with three of their last four games finishing with over 2.5 goals. Meanwhile, Chelsea’s last two outings have seen the Blues beat Napoli 4-1 after extra-time in the Champions League, and then book their place in the FA Cup semi-finals with a 5-2 victory over Leicester City. So, the Tipster reckons over 2.5 goals in this one is a value bet at 4/5.
Everton fought back from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw against Sunderland and set up a FA Cup quarter-final replay at the Stadium of Light later this month. And the Toffees could well be distracted by the prospect of a potential an all-Merseyside semi-final at Wembley when they face the Gunners on Wednesday. Arsenal are in form having won their last four games, and the Gunners to take all the points at Goodison Park looks an excellent bet at 13/10.
Everton supporters have witnessed few thrillers at Goodison Park this season – eight of their last nine home games have finished with under 2.5 goals. Still not convinced? The clash at The Emirates earlier in the season finished 1-0 courtesy of Robin van Persie’s spectacular volleyed winner. The Tipster expects this one to be a tight match, too – and under 2.5 goals is a solid bet at 17/20.
Liverpool have often been made to rue allowing strikers to leave the club as their ex-stars have often come back to haunt them with a goal or two, including Nicolas Anelka and most recently Peter Crouch, who scored for Stoke in their 2-1 FA Cup loss at Anfield. QPR boss Mark Hughes expects Cissé to be fired up when his former employers visit Loftus Road on Wednesday – and so does the Tipster, who is backing the French striker to score and QPR to win at a ludicrously tempting 16/1.
