Tottenham Hotspur can put their miserable Premier League form to one side and reach the FA Cup semi-finals with victory over Bolton on Saturday – and the Tipster is backing Jermain Defoe to net first at White Hart Lane.

Our resident betting expert is also expecting Spurs to win big in their FA Cup last-eight tie – and fancies Everton to see off the challenge of Sunderland at Goodison Park.

Defoe to score first against Bolton – 3/1

The England forward has responded to suggestions his Tottenham career could be over with three goals in his last three games. Despite the 29-year-old being largely used as an impact substitute this season, Defoe has still scored an impressive 15 goals. Harry Redknapp is expected to start Defoe against Bolton – so the Tipster is backing the striker to score first at a more-than-tempting 3/1.

Spurs to beat Bolton by two goals or more – 4/6

Tottenham have won their last five games against Bolton Wanderers at White Hart Lane. And Spurs have scored two goals or more against Bolton in seven of their last nine meetings. Owen Coyle’s side are currently embroiled in a relegation battle, and will surely have one eye on securing their top flight survival. So Spurs to beat Bolton by two goals or more is a value bet at 4/6.

Everton to beat Sunderland – 10/11

Despite their 1-0 victory over Liverpool last Saturday, the Black Cats have lost their last two away games, while Lee Cattermole and Stephane Sessegnon are still suspended. Everton have Tim Cahill and Nikica Jelavic to return to their starting line-up and the Toffees are unbeaten in 15 league games against Sunderland stretching back to 2001. So, Everton to seal a victory is a good bet in this one at 10/11.

Everton to beat Sunderland to nil – 15/8

Forgetting Everton’s Merseyside derby defeat, the Toffees are in excellent form and have lost just once in six games. David Moyes’ side earned successive league wins at Goodison Park, beating Chelsea, Manchester City and Spurs to nil – so Everton to progress into the FA Cup semi-finals without conceding on Saturday is definitely worth a punt at 15/8 too.

The long shot: Jelavic to score two goals or more – 10/1

Jelavic’s sensational form at Rangers convinced Moyes to part with £5m to bring the Croatian striker to England. He netted 14 times and three braces in the Scottish Premier League this season before moving south – and opened his Toffees account with the winner against Spurs last weekend. So, with all that in mind, The Tipster’s audacious long-range effort for this week is for Everton’s latest acquisition to snatch two goals or more against the Black Cats at 10/1.
