Adebayor convinced Tottenham Hotspur can beat Man United
Emmanuel Adebayor insists Tottenham Hotspurs are not fazed by the challenge of facing Manchester United on Sunday
Emmanuel Adebayor has urged Tottenham Hotspur to show their character after last week’s 5-2 defeat by rivals Arsenal by beating Manchester United at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
Spurs threw away a two-goal lead to slump to their second loss in five games, falling further off the pace in the title race as Manchester City and United both claimed wins.
But Adebayor is eagerly anticipating the chance to reignite Spurs’ challenge with victory over the defending champions.
“It will be tough but we’re ready for it, looking forward to it and we have to show our character and personality to bounce back as quickly as possible,” Adebayor told Spurs’ website.
Adebayor, who spent three-and-a-half seasons at Arsenal, admitted last week’s defeat at the Emirates was hard to take – but the Togolese striker has urged his team-mates to focus on securing a result against United.
“Arsenal was a tough one to take, the defeat is hard but we’re footballers, we have to stay focused and we’re now back at home against United, especially in front of our fans we have to show character and try to win that game,” he added.
