Torres to score at any time against Benfica – 5/4

Fernando Torres finally appears to be a turning a corner at Chelsea following a run of three goals and two assists in his last five games. The 28-year-old has struggled since moving to the Blues but as the old adage goes; form is temporary, class is permanent. He is on his way to being back to his best, and The Tipster is backing him to produce on the biggest of stages, with 5/4 looking like excellent value.

Both sides to score in Chelsea v Benfica – 4/5

Both sides have scored in four of Benfica’s last six away games in Europe this season. Meanwhile, Roberto Di Matteo’s side have been involved in some thrillers of late in the Champions League, with Napoli scoring home and away against the Blues in the last 16. With Benfica needing to attack, both teams to score is definitely a value bet at 4/5.

Chelsea to beat Benfica – 7/10

Chelsea have won their last three games against Portugese sides at Stamford Bridge in Europe and despite their struggles this season, the Blues have a 100 per cent home record in the Champions League this season. Meanwhile, Benfica have lost nine times against English clubs. The Tipster cannot see past Chelsea in this one and the Blues are 7/10 to win on the night.
Bet365 odds

Over 2.5 goals in Chelsea v Benfica – 9/10

Chelsea’s four home games in the Champions League have produced 15 goals, including a 4-1 victory for the Blues in the second round. Their opponents Benfica have scored in every away game in Europe this season, including two goals at Manchester United and Zenit Saint Petersburg. With the Primeira Liga outfit needing a goal after losing the first leg, over 2.5 looks a more-than-solid bet in this one at 9/10.

The long shot: Lampard to score first and Chelsea to win – 7/1

Frank Lampard has enjoyed a revival since Roberto Di Matteo replaced André Villas-Boas as Chelsea’s temporary boss – and the England midfielder looks to be returning to his best form. The 33-year-old scored from the spot in the Blues’ 4-1 victory over Napoli in their last Champions League tie at Stamford Bridge. The Tipster’s ambitious long-range effort for this edition is for Lampard to score first and Chelsea to win at an eye-catching 7/1.
