Gavin Henson suspended by Cardiff Blues after flight incident
Gavin Henson's club future appears in doubt after being suspended by Cardiff Blues over allegations of misconduct
Wales utility back Gavin Henson’s club future appears in doubt after being suspended by Cardiff Blues over allegations of misconduct on an aircraft.
Henson appeared to be getting his international career back on track after being part of Wales’ 2012 Six Nations squad – despite not making it into the matchday squad for any of their Grand Slam-winning campaign.
However, his suspension may set Henson back in his quest to add to his 33 Wales caps.
The 30-year-old had been part of the Blues side that went down to a 31-3 RaboDirect PRO12 defeat against Glasgow Warriors on Friday night.
The exact nature of what occurred on the plane has yet to be revealed by the club but Henson’s future will be decided in a management meeting on Monday.
A Cardiff Blues spokesman said: “We can confirm that Gavin Henson has been suspended with immediate effect following an incident on the flight back from Scotland after their match against Glasgow Warriors.
“The Cardiff Blues management team will meet first thing Monday morning to discuss the matter further.”
Henson had played just the last 15 minutes of the Friday night defeat against the Warriors.
