Chelsea have been distracted by their FA Cup and Champions League semi-finals in their bid to finish in the top four, and the Tipster expects Robin van Persie to help Arsenal move further clear of their London rivals on Saturday.

Our resident betting expect is backing Van Persie to score first and Arsenal to beat Chelsea, with over 2.5 goals looking very likely at The Emirates in this one.

Van Persie to score at any time against Chelsea – 4/5

Van Persie is the firm favourite to land this season’s PFA Player of the Year award after a sparkling campaign which has seen the Dutch striker net 27 goals in 33 appearances. The 28-year-old netted a hat-trick when Arsenal made the trip to Stamford Bridge back in October in a thrilling 5-3 victory – and 4/5 for him to score at any time on Saturday is definitely worth a punt.

Arsenal to beat Chelsea – Evens

Chelsea edged to a 1-0 lead in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final against Barcelona, and the Blues are likely to have one eye on the return leg when they face the Gunners on Saturday. Arsenal will be fresher and are one of the league’s form sides despite losing to Wigan Athletic on Monday. So, Arsenal to beat Chelsea at The Emirates is the value here at Evens.

Draw at half-time and Arsenal to be winning at full-time – 4/1

With just 28 per cent of possession, Chelsea had to defend heroically against Barcelona on Wednesday night, and the Tipster expects that effort to tell in the second half against Arsenal. The Gunners have been drawing at half-time but gone on to secure the win in the second half in three of their last five games. So, the spoils to be shared at half-time but Arsenal to secure a win after the break looks like great value at 4/1.

Over 2.5 goals in Arsenal v Chelsea – 4/5

When the Gunners made the trip across London to Stamford Bridge back in October, a thrilling game between the two sides ended 5-3 in Arsenal’s favour. Nine of the Gunners’ last 11 games have finished with over 2.5 goals, while their four recent home ties against the Blues have produced at least three goals. So, the Tipster reckons over 2.5 goals between Arsenal and Chelsea on Saturday is a value bet at 4/5.

The long shot: Van Persie to score first and Arsenal to win – 4/1

Arsenal’s last victory came at Wolverhampton Wanderers, when Van Persie got the first in a comfortable 3-0 win at Molineux. The Gunners captain has scored first and his side gone on to claim three points in seven games this season. So, the Tipster’s audacious long-range effort for this edition is for Van Persie to score first and Arsenal to beat Chelsea at the very tempting odds of 4/1.
