Kenny Dalglish expects Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard to feature against Norwich City after the midfielder missed last weekend’s 1-0 defeat by West Bromich Albion at Anfield.

Liverpool are without a home win since Gerrard score a hat-trick in a 3-0 Merseyside derby victory over Everton in March.

The 31-year-old was rested as a precaution for the visit of Roy Hodgson’s side but Dalglish revealed the England international should be fit to face Norwich on Saturday.

“He’s fine, no problem,” said Dalglish at his weekly news briefing on Thursday.

“We said it was just a precaution so he’s back training. He’s been training all week, so there are no other problems.”

Meanwhile, the 61-year-old manager confirmed that Charlie Adam will not feature again this season due to a knee injury and also cast doubt over the midfielder’s potential participation at the London Olympics with Team GB.

“There is no operation needed but he won’t play this season,” said the Liverpool manager.

“And I would think if they had any designs on having him in the Olympics he wouldn’t be fit for that either.”

Dalglish added that he will not be resting any players for the trip to Carrow Road ahead of the FA Cup final against Chelsea nine days later.

“I think everyone deserves to play,” Dalglish added.

“We’ve not picked a squad yet [for Saturday’s game at Norwich] but everyone is capable of playing in the Premier League.

“We will have a look tomorrow at what we have got and will pick the team accordingly.”
