Our man-in-the-know is predicting plenty of goals in what should be a comfortable City victory at Wolves, while tipping Liverpool to continue their good home record against West Bromich Albion and ease to a comfortable win without conceding.
Rooney has been in prolific form for United with 31 goals in all competitions this season. The 26-year-old scored twice against Aston Villa last weekend and he has six goals in his last four games at Old Trafford. So 9/4 for the England striker to net at least twice is great value in this one.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s side have been winning at half-time and full-time in seven of their last nine league games. The Red Devils took an early lead in their 1-0 victory over Everton earlier this season at Goodison Park and are undefeated in 13 home games against the Toffees. United to be winning at half-time and full-time is a more-than-solid bet at 4/5.
City were 3-0 winners against Wolves at Molineux last season, and Roberto Mancini’s side are in ominous form after beating Norwich City 6-1 in their last outing. Wolves have conceded at least two goals in their last 10 league home games. And with City desperate to keep the pressure on United, over 3.5 goals is a value bet at Evens.
Roy Hodgson makes the trip back to his former club Liverpool on Sunday but the Tipster doesn’t expect West Brom to cause an upset at Anfield. Liverpool have won 10 of the last 11 meetings between the two sides on Merseyside and haven’t conceded a goal in any of those victories. So Liverpool to beat West Brom without conceding is a good shout 5/4.
Much has been made of Ashley Young’s contribution to United’s last two home victories. The Red Devils winger won his side a penalty in a 2-0 win against Queens Park Rangers, and a 4-0 victory over Aston Villa. And the Tipster’s audacious long-range effort for this edition is for United to make it a hat-trick of penalties and to score from the spot against Everton at 4/1.
