Eden Hazard admits he watches video clips of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for inspiration – and claims Arsenal’s Gervinho is the best player he has ever played alongside.

The Belgium playmaker apparently revealed he will be joining Chelsea next season after posting on Twitter that he is to join the “Champions League winner” on Monday.

The 21-year-old has made no secret of his desire to swap Ligue 1 for the Premier League and he admits he watches clips of players from other leagues as he feels he can learn from them.

“A lot of players watch videos of others,” said Hazard, whose £32m switch to Chelsea has reportedly been pushed through personally by Blues owner Roman Abramovich.

“I’m not scared to say I watch videos of Messi and Ronaldo, I try and inspire myself from them.

“Great players inspire you. The best player I played with was Gervi [Gervinho, who joined Arsenal from Lille last summer].

“We didn’t have the same qualities, but we both tried to make the difference. He taught me some things. He makes the right runs.”
