Scarlets head coach optimistic over Wales centre Davies’ fitness
Scarlets head coach Nigel Davies is optimistic centre Jonathan Davies will be fit for Wales' tour of Australia

Scarlets head coach Nigel Davies has given a promising assessment of Jonathan Davies fitness that could open the door for the centre to tour Down Under this summer.
The 24-year-old’s availability for Wales’ tour of Australia was plunged into doubt last month when he was ruled out for the rest of the season with a hernia problem.
However that might not be the case with Nigel Davies revealing that he is contention to feature in the Scarlets final PRO12 regular season fixture with Cardiff.
He also stated that Jonathan Davies’ situation is fluid with surgery may or may not required but either way remains hopeful on the health of the Wales centre.
Jonathan Davies played a key role in Wales winning Six Nations Grand Slam this year and Nigel Davies told Wales Online: “We are hoping Jon is going to be fit for this weekend.
“He is making good progress and there are a number of options depending on what his treatment will be. We will make a decision on his availability for the Blues match later in the week.
“That might dictate the next course of action. An operation is an option to fix the hernia and there is not a long rehab from that.
“The other option is if he does show signs of improvement we can rehab him and he would not need surgery. So there are two potential courses of action and we are monitoring him.”
