Arsenal’s Ryo Miyaichi is keen to learn from Shinji Kagawa after Manchester United announced that a deal for the Japanese midfielder should be completed by the end of June.

Kagawa, 23, scored 17 goals in 40 appearances for Borussia Dortmund as Jurgen Klopp’s side won the Bundesliga title for the second successive season and eased to a 5-2 victory over Bayern Munich in the German Cup final.

The 19-time English champions said on Tuesday that they had agreed terms with Kagawa, with the deal subject to the player passing a medical and obtaining a UK work permit.

And 19-year-old Miyaichi, who joined Arsenal in 2011 and spent the second half of last season on loan to Bolton, admits he is keen to see Kagawa in the Premier League and believes he can learn a lot from his compatriot.

“It would be great if us Japanese players could bring excitement to the Premier League together,” Miyaichi told Soccer King.

“I want to follow his lead. By learning what he is good at, such as playing in small spaces, I would like to become a better player.”

Meanwhile, Kagawa, capped 31 times, was tight-lipped about his imminent move to the Red Devils ahead of his country’s forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Jordan and Australia.

“I am yet to sign the contract,” Kagawa said. “For now, I need to focus on the final qualifiers so we can get good results against Jordan and Australia.”
