Laurent Koscielny believes Yann M’Vila would be a good fit for Arsenal and hopes to see the defensive midfielder join the Gunners this summer.

M’Vila has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsene Wenger reportedly leading the chase for the 21-year-old holding midfielder’s signature.

Gunners centre-half Koscielny admits the Arsenal boss keeps his cards close to his chest over his dealings in the transfer market – but the France defender is eager to see his international team-mate join him at The Emirates.

“I don’t know what plans the club have in terms of signings,” Koscielny Goal.com. “I only see what appears in the newspapers because Wenger tells us nothing about that. But I would like one of my French team-mates to join us for next season.

“Yann is a player with enormous quality. He is strong on the ball and has great vision. He can triumph in an important competition like the Premier League.

“Would he be good at Arsenal? Of course. I will try to convince him to come when we are together at the Euros.”

Meanwhile, the French Football Federation has confirmed that M’Vila will remain in France’s Euro 2012 squad, despite suffering an ankle injury in the build-up to the tournament. It is understood the midfielder is likely to miss France’s group opener against England.

A statement read: “The MRI confirmed that it’s a moderately serious sprain, without aggravating factors. It’s running its course, there are no complications.”
