Clint Hill believes Queens Park Rangers have successfully raised their profile in Asia after the Hoops’ successful pre-season tour.

The 31-year-old featured in QPR’s inaugural tour of the Far East as Mark Hughes’ side secured successive victories over a Sabah Select XI, Kelantan and Persebaya Surabaya.

Hill, who signed a one-year contract extension in June, was voted as QPR Players’ and Fans’ Player of the Season last term after playing a crucial role in helping the R’s stay in the top flight for another season.

The former Crystal Palace defender admitted the enthusiasm and passion of the Asian supporters impressed Hughes’ squad, and Hill is optimistic QPR have left a lasting legacy following their tour.

“It’s been an eye-opening experience, that’s for sure,” Hill told the club’s website.

“The travelling has been hard at times, but what we have done we’ve done really well.

“The lads have equipped themselves very well, with good application both in training and in the three matches.

“We’ve been welcomed with open arms wherever we’ve gone, so it’s been a pleasure to be involved in.

“It’s been a great experience and hopefully we’ve put the Club on the map over here now for many, many years to come.”

QPR managed to avoid defeat in their three pre-season games, scoring 12 goals and conceding just once, and Hill challenged the Hoops to carry their current form into the new Premier League campaign.

“It was another good workout for the lads,” Hill added after QPR’s 2-1 victory over Persebaya Surabaya.

“It’s all about game-time at this stage of the pre-season campaign, but make no mistake, everyone loves winning.

“If we can take that into the start of the season we’ll be buzzing come the opening day.”
