Roberto Mancini insists Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko will not be leaving Manchester City this summer, despite both players being linked with moves away from Eastlands.

Tevez has been touted as a target for AC Milan, while Dzeko has been linked with a move to the likes of Juventus.

But City boss Mancini, who signed a new five-year deal to remain in charge of the Premier League champions last week, is adamant that the pair will not leave the Etihad Stadium during this transfer window.

“Both Dzeko and Tevez will stay at City. We are a great team and we try to keep all our great players. It won’t be easy but they will stay here,” Mancini told Sky Sport Italia.

“We still lack a couple of players to reach [the level of] Real Madrid and Barcelona. Also our mentality has to grow season by season.”

Mancini’s comments come after former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour claimed the Gunners should try to land Dzeko as part of a swap deal for wantaway captain Robin van Persie this summer.

“I don’t know what Arsenal will look at, but if [Van Persie] does want to go to Manchester City then maybe they could look at a swap deal with someone like Dzeko and bring him in,” Parlour told talkSPORT.

“His wages might be a problem. I don’t know what kind of wages Dzeko is on at Manchester City. Arsenal have always had that pay structure that they want to keep to and maybe they have to change that.”
