David Luiz is part of Chelsea’s long-term future, says Roberto Di Matteo
Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo insists David Luiz is part of the Blues' long-term plans and cannot see him leaving the club

Roberto Di Matteo insists David Luiz remains part of Chelsea’s long-term plans and is not for sale at any price, amid reported interest from Barcelona.
The 25-year-old centre-half sparked controversy in midweek when he posted a picture of himself on a luxury plane and Tweeted: “Going to #barcelona See you soon…”
The post, which was in reference to a trip organised by one of his sponsors, served to further fuel speculation linking the Brazilian with a move to Barcelona, with the Catalan giants said to be readying a £30m bid for the defender.
But Chelsea boss Di Matteo insists Luiz remains part of his plans and the Italian claims he cannot see “why any players would want to leave us for anywhere else”.
“Luiz is part of our future. It’s normal that he’ll get interest because he’s a Brazilian international centre back,” Di Matteo said.
“There have been no approaches for Luiz and he’s not for sale at any price. It doesn’t concern me, the player will be here for the long term.
“I believe we can withstand Barcelona. Personally we don’t feel any pressure from them. This club has been very successful in the past. I don’t see why any players would want to leave us for anywhere else.
“We always compete for trophies. We’re an ambitious club with an ambitious owner. We have great facilities. We have a great group of players who over the years have won a lot and still have the hunger to win more.”
