Manchester United are reportedly close to signing highly-rated winger Lucas Moura from Sao Paulo.

The 19-year-old is expected to undergo a medical at United this week, and the Red Devils fans voiced their support for the Brazilian on Twitter.

Here are some of the Tweets that caught our eye.

Harnack Singh Uppal ‏(@Harnack03) is hoping to see Robin van Persie arrive next: “If it is true and Manchester United will sign Lucas Moura today that will be brilliant. Good player with lots of potential – Van Persie next?#MUFC”

Chelsea supporter Andotelli (‏@HollaAtAndo) points out Ferguson’s “hypocrisy”: “How can Sir Alex Ferguson criticise Chelsea for signing Hazard for £32m then go and sign Lucas Moura for £30m? #hypocrite”

Jack (‏@Wilson_1900) is critical of Brazil’s officials: “So the CBF will release Oscar to let him have a medical at Chelsea but not Lucas Moura?! Oh My!”

Ashley Jones (‏@foofyj) wants a defensive midfielder and not an attacking midfielder: “Forget Lucas Moura I say! Not needed. Manchester United need that defensive midfielder, we’ve enough attacking options! Plus… 30m! Really?#mufc”

Agostinho Thomas Zinga ‏(@AgostinhoTZ) agrees: “I’m hearing United are pushing through a deal for Lucas Moura for £30m. I’m a bit disappointed as we could do with a couple central-midfielders instead. #MUFC”

But Hamish MacHaggis ‏(@HaggisHerder) won’t take anything for granted – yet: “There’s been so many stories on Lucas Moura I’m not believing any until he officially signs.”

However, Koku Donkor ‏(@KokuDon) is shocked by the size of the reported fee: “I cannot believe Ferguson is willing to pay that much for that Lucas Moura fella. He should add more and sign Luka Modric!”

Chelsea fan Jordi Smith ‏(@Smithy_564) would like to see Lucas in the Premier League: “I’m a Chelsea fan but as a football fan I must say if Lucas Moura signs for Man United the Premier League will benefit!”

Mohd Shahir Ismail (‏@ShahirIsmail) asks whether Lucas will be a success or a flop: “Lucas Moura to complete his move to Manchester United for €30m. Top buy or flop?

Finally, Robbie Henry ‏(@RobbieH46) urges caution: “Not getting on the Lucas Moura bandwagon just yet. Remember the last South American ‘superstars’ we signed. Veron, Forlan, Kleberson? #MUFC”
