Tottenham target Fernando Llorente ‘considering move to England’

Reported Tottenham Hotspur target Fernando Llorente is considering a move to the Premier League, according to the Spain international’s agent.
The 27-year-old has expressed his desire to leave Athletic Bilbao this summer, with Llorente being heavily linked with a move to Serie A champions Juventus.
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has made public his desire to sign a new striker this summer, and Llorente’s agent Arino Bajo confirmed there is interest from two English clubs – based in London and Manchester – with Chelsea and City also having been linked with the forward.
“[On Wednesday] Llorente will speak to his destination,” Bajo told the Daily Telegraph. “It is very, very possible he will decide to go to the Premier League.
“I don’t know the [choice of] club at the moment but there are two [interested] clubs. One is in London, and one is in Manchester.”
Villas-Boas has made no secret of his desire to sign a new striker this summer, with a deal for Manchester City’s Emmanuel Adebayor stalling, leaving Jermain Defoe as Spurs’ only recognised forward.
“We are looking for another striker,” said Villas-Boas. “It has been a difficult two weeks. With what we can do in the market, it has been difficult to live with.
“We have been in touch with a couple of players for that position. For one reason or another, it has stalled and it hasn’t happened. But it doesn’t mean it can’t happen in the next couple of days.
“That is the reality of the Premier League – we can’t survive with two strikers only. Even with three or four, there are clubs who have five.”
