The 26-year-old Colombia international, who scored a hat-trick in Atlético’s 4-0 victory over last season’s Europa League runners-up Athletic Bilbao in La Liga on Monday, is expecting a difficult test against the Blues, even in the absence of suspended captain John Terry.
“The defence of Chelsea is one of the most effective in Europe,” said Falcao.
“They are a well-constructed team. They know how to defend and attack as a unit. I think it’s a very strong squad.
“We know that we will have to be well-prepared and ready to face them. We hope it will be a good show tomorrow.”
Falcao’s Atlético team-mate Gabi added: “Well we know Chelsea will be a hard opponent. This summer they’ve made some great signings to flush out their team.”
The former Porto striker scored 36 goals in 50 appearances for Atlético last season, which included a brace in the Europa League final in May.
And Falcao is hoping a Super Cup triumph can inspire Atlético to a top-four finish and Champions League qualification this season after narrowly missing out on a place in Europe’s premier competition last season.
“Tomorrow’s game represents a chance to win a title,” added Falcao.
“This generates prestige for the club and players – it’s the dream of every footballer. So it is our wish to win.
“Afterwards we’ll see about the Champions League. We’ll do everything we can to see if we can place ourselves for the Champions League next season.”
