Roberto Di Matteo backs ‘exciting’ Victor Moses to shine at Chelsea
Roberto Di Matteo is convinced Victor Moses will be a success at Chelsea after prising him away from Wigan this summer

Roberto Di Matteo has backed the “exciting” Victor Moses to be a success at Chelsea in seasons to come after signing the winger from Wigan this summer.
The 21-year-old joined the Blues back in August after Wigan accepted a fifth bid from the west Londoners and has made two appearances for the Champions League holders so far this term.
And Di Matteo admits he is a long-term admirer of the Nigerian and revealed he had tried to sign him in previous seasons during his stint as West Bromwich Albion boss.
“He’s still young, but he will improve and develop, he’s an exciting player,” said Di Matteo. “I tried very hard to sign him, not just this year but previously as well, so he’s a player I like very much and he will have a big influence on our season.
“He’s strong at holding the ball, his dribbling ability is very good and he can go past defenders, which not many players can do. He has pace, he’s good at making runs in behind as well, he’s a very good player.
“Probably last season was his best season, he was more consistent, and the back end of the season was the best he’s played. He’s still young but it’s good that nobody else noticed him.”
