Robin van Persie a ‘great addition’ for Man United, says Ashley Young
Manchester United's Ashley Young believes Robin van Persie is an "all-round player" and is backing him to continue his good form

Ashley Young has hailed Robin van Persie as a “great addition” to Manchester United’s squad.
The 29-year-old inspired United to a 3-2 victory over Southampton on Sunday as the Netherlands international netted a hat-trick at St Mary’s.
With Wayne Rooney currently out of action with a leg injury, Van Persie will be viewed as the Red Devils’ main source of goals until the England international returns.
And Young, who moved from Aston Villa to United in 2011, is confident the club’s £24m signing can have a big impact at Old Trafford this season.
“He’s a world-class striker who can not only score goals, but lay on assists,” Young told United’s website.
“Robin’s also in great from set-pieces. He’s an all-round player and exactly the type a club like United should have – we want the best players.
“He’s fitted in very well but it’s easy for any player that joins United to fit in because the players here are so good at making you feel welcome and really help you settle in.
“It’s still only early days, but you can already see he’s formed some good link-ups in training and on the pitch.
“He’s a great addition to the squad and I’m sure he will have a big impact this season.”
Van Persie scored 132 goals in 277 appearances for the Gunners after the Arsenal captain moved to the north London club from Feyenoord in 2004.
