Clint Dempsey admits he and his Tottenham Hotspur team-mates are relishing the prospect of ending Chelsea’s unbeaten start in the league when the Blues make the trip to White Hart Lane on Saturday.

Roberto Di Matteo’s men are currently top of the Premier League table having only dropped two points in their opening seven games following an impressive start to the new season.

Spurs, meanwhile, have found some form under Andre Villas-Boas following their slow start and currently sit in fifth place, five points behind their table-topping London rivals.

And Dempsey admits Saturday’s clash is crucial for Spurs as they look to extend their four-game winning streak in the league.

“It is going to be an important game because the table is so tight,” Dempsey told Sky Sports. “You have to take care of your home games and try and get as many results as you can.

“We want to continue this run of positive results, so we know it is going to be a tough test but we are all excited, and we have everyone back from fitness now and we are looking to make the most of this game.”
