Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel proved he is the lead contender for the Korean Grand Prix after posting the quickest time in the final practice session on the Yeongam circuit.

Although both McLarens finished second and third, British driver Lewis Hamilton’s fastest effort was half a second down on Vettel’s best, with Jenson Button trailing his team-mate by 0.342 seconds.

Proving it was a practice session for teams, Lotus drivers Romain Grosjean and Kimi Raikkonen finished fourth and fifth ahead of championship leader Fernando Alonso, with the Ferrari man almost a second off the pace.

Vettel’s team-mate Mark Webber failed to show his true pace as an electrical problem prevented him from getting a run on the super-soft tyres, leaving him in third.
