‘Liverpool & Man City target Wilfried Zaha worth in excess of £20m’
Crystal Palace co-director Steve Parish insists the London club will only entertain offers in excess of £20m for Wilfried Zaha
Wilfried Zaha is valued at more than £20m by Crystal Palace, according to the London club’s co-director Steve Parish.
The England Under-21 international has been linked with a January move to Liverpool and Manchester City in recent weeks after scoring four goals in 10 Championship appearances this term.
With speculation over the 19-year-old’s future at Selhurst Park mounting, Parish insisted Palace would not listen to offers below £20m for the highly-rated forward.
“[Zaha] is an extraordinary talent,” he told the South London Press. “I said at the start of the season that keeping hold of Wilf would be like spending a lot of money on a transfer.
“Other sides can fly their kites but it would take £20m before we even got interested.
“He has got the lot, provided he keeps his feet on the ground and continues working so hard on his game – then it will all come.”
He added: “People would have to compensate us accordingly for losing [Zaha’s] talent – that is what a transfer fee is.
“All the teams have got to understand that you get £60m in TV money if you get into the Premier League, which is where we want to get. So we’d need to be compensated for reducing our chances of getting there.”
