Poland v England: Manchester United's Tom Cleverley is hoping to keep his starting spot for Tuesday's trip to Warsaw
Tom Cleverley is hoping to keep his starting spot for England’s trip to Poland on Tuesday.
The Manchester United midfielder earned his fourth Three Lions cap in the 5-0 victory over San Marino at Wembley on Friday after starting alongside club-mate Michael Carrick.
The 23-year-old has started all three of England’s World Cup qualifiers – and Cleverley is hopeful that he will get the nod from manager Roy Hodgson for Tuesday’s clash in Warsaw.
“It will be another different experience for me on Tuesday night,” Cleverley told the FA’s website.
“I have played a couple of away games for England but one was neutral and the other was at a smaller ground.”
“Tuesday will be different again and these are all good experiences for me to pick up. Hopefully we can get a good result.
“It makes me feel really proud and I am always happy to represent my country. I have won three of them and drawn one. Hopefully I can get the nod on Tuesday and carry on with the good form.”
England currently top Group H following their victory over San Marino.
