Arsenal transfers: It would be better for Taarabt to stay at QPR – Hughes
Arsenal transfers: QPR manager Mark Hughes believes midfielder Adel Taarabt would be better off staying at Loftus Road

Mark Hughes believes Queens Park Rangers midfielder Adel Taarabt would be better off staying at Loftus Road despite reported interest from Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger has been linked with a January move for the Morocco international after the Hoops midfielder produced a string of impressive displays over the past two months.
Hughes dropped Taarabt after a 5-0 loss to Swansea on the opening day of the Premier League season before restoring the 23-year-old to his starting line-up in October.
The Welshman has been impressed by Taarabt’s response to increased competition for places at QPR, but Hughes believes the former Tottenham man would be foolish to contemplate a move elsewhere.
“I think Adel now understands I’ve got lots of options. We’ve got good players here now,” said Hughes.
“He understands that if I feel he doesn’t warrant a place then I’ve got other players that can take his place.
“Maybe it was something he didn’t come to terms with quickly enough, but he certainly has now and I’m really pleased with what he’s producing.
“His ability isn’t doubted by anyone at QPR. What we want to do is make sure that he’s consistent in training and matches.”
He added: “It doesn’t surprise me [that there is interest]. I think he’s in a really good place now in terms of his attitude and what he’s been able to produce on the pitch.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if clubs are looking at him, but I know for a fact he’s happy here. It would be best for him to stay.”
